Cookie Policy

DriveCrest ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on this website. This policy explains what they are, which ones we use, and how you can control them. Nothing analytics-related is stored in your browser until you choose to accept.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device. Your browser can also store information in similar ways, called local storage and session storage. Together we refer to these as cookies and similar technologies. Some are essential for a website to work, and others are used for things like analytics or advertising. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), non-essential cookies and storage can only be used with your consent.

2. How we ask for your consent

When you first visit, a banner lets you choose "Accept all" or "Essential only". Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key lndc-cookie-consent-v1 with the value "accepted" or "declined", so the banner does not keep appearing. If you decline, or later reset your choice, the analytics identifiers described below are removed.

3. Strictly necessary (no consent required)

These are needed for the website to work and cannot be switched off.

  • Supabase authentication session, set by Supabase: keeps you signed in to the student and instructor portals. It lasts for your signed-in session and is cleared when you sign out.
  • __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid, set by Stripe on our booking checkout: used by Stripe for fraud prevention when you pay. Stripe controls how long these last; see Stripe's own policy linked below.
  • lndc-cookie-consent-v1 (local storage), set by us: remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask on every page.

4. Analytics (only with your consent)

Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-HNNBS2NE7P), set by Google. The Google tag is only loaded after you accept. We use Google Consent Mode, and the advertising signals ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization stay denied at all times. Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga, ga, _gid and gac. Withdrawing consent deletes the _ga, ga, _gid and gac cookies we set. Google controls the lifetimes of these cookies; see Google's policy linked below.

Our own first-party visitor analytics, set by us and sent to our own website at /api/public/visitor-track. This uses a visitor identifier ln_visitor_id (local storage) and session identifiers ln_vsession_id and ln_session_id (session storage). Before you consent, these identifiers exist only in your browser's memory for the current page and are never written to browser storage. Session storage entries are cleared when you close the browser tab, and the visitor identifier stays in local storage until you withdraw consent or clear your browser data.

5. Advertising and attribution (only with your consent)

Marketing attribution, set by us under the session storage key ln_attribution_v1. When you arrive from an advert, we capture the Google click identifiers gclid, wbraid and gbraid, and the utm_* campaign parameters, so we can tell which advert led to a booking. Values are only saved to browser storage after you consent, the first value captured wins, and they are removed if you withdraw consent. The session storage copy lasts until you close the browser tab. Attribution values copied onto a booking record are kept for that booking's normal retention period, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Google Ads conversion reporting, set by Google, is only active where a conversion ID and label are configured. It reuses the same consented Google tag runtime and is cookieless on our site, because ad storage stays denied in Consent Mode.

6. Embedded content

Google Maps on our contact page, provided by Google. The interactive map is not loaded until you accept cookies, or click the "Load interactive map" button. Until then we show a self-hosted static map image, so no request is sent to Google. When the interactive map loads, Google may set cookies and receive your IP address and device information, as described in Google's own policies.

7. How to accept, decline or change your choice

You can change your choice at any time. Click the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page and the consent banner will reopen. Declining, or resetting your choice, removes the analytics and attribution identifiers we set and stops any new collection.

8. Controlling cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and other site data.
  • Safari: Settings (or Preferences), then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
  • Firefox: Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
  • Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies.

Blocking all cookies may stop parts of the site working, including signing in to the portals and completing a booking payment.

9. Third parties

These third parties set or receive cookies and similar data when you use the relevant features. Their own policies explain what they do with it:

  • Google (Analytics, Ads and Maps): https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies
  • Stripe (payments): https://stripe.com/privacy and https://stripe.com/cookies-policy/legal
  • Supabase (sign-in and database): https://supabase.com/privacy

10. Your rights

Under UK GDPR and PECR you can withdraw consent at any time, and you can ask us to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Withdrawing consent clears the copies held in your browser session and stops new collection; it does not delete data already saved against a booking, which is kept for that booking's normal retention period under the lawful bases described in our Privacy Policy. Our lawful basis for analytics and attribution cookies is consent.

If you are unhappy with how we use cookies or handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
