Do I need a provisional licence before booking?

How do I book?

Accepted Answer

Tap Book Lesson, enter your postcode, choose manual or automatic, pick your package, and either pay in full online or pay a £99 reservation payment that is deducted from your total. It takes under two minutes. If you would rather speak to someone, request a call back.

What ID do I need for my first lesson?

How quickly will I get an instructor?

What happens on my first lesson?

Your instructor picks you up from your chosen address. Expect a relaxed start: getting comfortable with the controls, some quiet-road driving, and a friendly sense of your level. Nerves are completely normal, our instructors teach nervous beginners every single day.

Should I learn in manual or automatic?

How many lessons will I need?

Everyone is different. Historical government research suggested the average learner took somewhere in the mid-40s of hours of professional tuition plus around 20 hours of private practice. That is research, not a current DVSA recommendation or a minimum. Our 30-hour block is the most popular starting point for complete beginners; if you have driven before, 10 or 20 hours may be plenty.

What if I need to cancel or move a lesson?

Please give at least 48 hours' notice to your instructor. Lessons cancelled or changed with less than 48 hours' notice are charged at your current lesson rate, because your instructor has reserved that time for you. If you're unwell, tell us as soon as you can.

Who will be my driving instructor?

Every instructor is DVSA registered. That means fully qualified Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) and trainee driving instructors working under a valid DVSA trainee licence. If a trainee instructor is allocated to you we will tell you before your first lesson. All instructors are background checked and teach in a fully insured dual-control car.

Yes. Your block-booking hours are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, giving you plenty of time to complete your lessons. We recommend booking regularly to make the most of your hours and keep your progress on track.

Yes, Test Day Car Hire includes a 45 to 60 minute warm-up drive and a fully insured dual-control car, from £99 depending on your location and test centre. What if I fail my test?

It happens, and it's not the end of the world. We'll help you understand the examiner's feedback, arrange a short top-up of lessons targeting those areas, and get you ready for the retake, usually with the same instructor on familiar local routes.
