Quick answers
The questions our learners ask most.
How much does it cost to learn to drive?
Manual lessons start from £36/hr and automatic lessons from £38/hr, with the same instructors and the same standard either way. Block packages start from £350 for 10 hours and work out cheaper per hour. Most learners budget for several dozen hours of professional lessons, plus test fees.
How many lessons will I need?
There is no set number of lessons. Most of our learners take between 30 and 60 hours depending on how often they drive and how much practice they get between lessons.
How long is the wait for a driving test?
Waiting times vary by test centre across Greater Manchester and can run to several months at the busiest centres. Your instructor will advise when to book so your test date lands close to when you are ready.
Can I change or cancel a lesson?
Yes. Give your instructor at least 48 hours notice and the lesson is rescheduled at no cost. Shorter notice may be charged, since the slot cannot usually be filled.
Should I learn in a manual or an automatic car?
An automatic licence only lets you drive automatic cars unless you pass a manual test later. Automatics often need fewer hours and cost a little more per hour, so the decision is about the cars you expect to drive, not just the price.
