You lock in a lower per-hour rate, your instructor can plan a proper progression instead of one-off sessions, and you avoid the drift that comes with paying week-to-week. Which block should I pick?

There is no set number of hours to reach test standard. If you're a complete beginner, a 40-hour block covers you comfortably.
